As Systems Administrators , you will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing our organization’s computer systems, servers, and networks.

Minimum Educational Qualification:

Systems Administrators should possess a strong foundation in computer science and software development, including proficiency in:

  • Proficiency in configuring, managing, and troubleshooting Windows and Linux-based operating systems.
  • Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Proficient in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash).
  • Knowledge of network protocols, routing, and firewall configurations.
  • Familiarity with backup and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices.

Analytical Skills:

  • Ability to analyze system performance data and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Proficient in diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis.
  • Capacity to assess security vulnerabilities and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Analytical mindset to optimize system performance and resource allocation.

Certifications:

While not always mandatory, certifications can enhance a Systems Administrators qualifications. Some relevant certifications include:

Key Responsibilities:

  1. System Administration:
    • Install, configure, and maintain server hardware and operating systems.
    • Ensure system security through regular updates, patches, and access controls.
    • Perform system backups and implement disaster recovery strategies.
  2. Network Management:
    • Configure and manage network devices, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
    • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
    • Implement network security measures to safeguard data.
  3. Virtualization:
    • Manage and maintain virtualized environments for optimal resource utilization.
    • Monitor virtual machine performance and allocate resources as needed.
  4. Cloud Computing:
    • Deploy, configure, and manage cloud-based services and resources.
    • Ensure scalability and availability of cloud infrastructure.
  5. Scripting and Automation:
    • Develop and maintain scripts to automate routine tasks and system monitoring.
    • Streamline system administration processes for efficiency.
  6. Security and Compliance:
    • Implement security policies and access controls to protect sensitive data.
    • Conduct security audits and vulnerability assessments.
    • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  7. User Support:
    • Provide technical support to end-users and assist with technical inquiries.
    • Resolve helpdesk tickets related to systems and network issues.
  8. Documentation:
    • Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
    • Create and update network diagrams and system documentation.
  9. Collaboration:
    • Collaborate with IT teams and other departments to address technical requirements.
    • Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives.
  10. Monitoring and Reporting:
    • Monitor system performance, logs, and alerts to proactively address issues.
    • Generate reports on system health, performance metrics, and security incidents.

Expected Salary:

  1. Entry-Level : $65,000 to $85,000 per year
  2. Mid-Level : $85,000 to $95,000 per year
  3. Senior-Level : $110,000 to $130,000+ per year
